[130521] GD-Taeyang, ‘Confirmed’ to be in CL’s first solo debut MV

It was confirmed that in 2NE1′s CL first solo debut music video, Big Bang member’s G-Dragon and Taeyang will be featured.

According to a music figure, many YG family members, like G-Dragon and Taeyang, supported CL by appearing in her first solo music video.

After 2NE1′s 4th year anniversary, CL‘s solo debut news was released, but no one knows if she’s the first and last soloist. Additionally, with 2NE1′s upcoming comeback, there’s a lot of pressure. This displays their loyalty towards the members of the family.

YG Family will support CL‘s new solo track with dougie and dubstep, which aren’t well-known in Korean music industry. The dubstep will be accompanied by a hip-hop genre.

For the past few years, the Korean music industry has been flooding with girl groups with cute or sexy concepts. However, CL raises interest by being the opposite of the mainstream as a female hip-hop rapper for her solo track.

Also, YG’s side has never released any basic information, like song title or teasers about CL‘s solo track which leaves the fans hanging the cliff of curiosity.

We finally now know what the “2NE1 LOVES” Teasers are all about. Its 2NE1′s collaboration with Luxury Department Store SHINSEGAE which literally means “NEW WORLD”.

Shinsegae (Korean: 신세계, KRX: 004170) is a South Koreandepartment storefranchise, along with several other businesses, headquartering in Seoul, South Korea. The name of Shinsegae literally means “New World” in Korean. Its flagship store in Centum City, Busan, is the world’s largest department store, surpassing the Macy’s department store in New York City in 2009. Shinsegae is one of the “big three” department stores in the city (the other two are Lotte and Hyundai) and it’s a dazzling emporium that sells all manner of merchandise.

The “2NE1 Loves Shinsegae” Campaign will be from May 29 to June 27. Its about embarking into a “New World” (Shinsegae) – a young and dynamic fashion department store. The “2NE1 Loves Shinsegae” Campaign will include Advertising, Photo Exhibition, A COLLABORATION WITH LUXURY BRAND CHROME HEARTS.

[130518] CL completes music video filming for solo debut + 2NE1 comeback news

The countdown for girl group 2NE1’s (Sandara Park, Park Bom, CL, Gong Minzy) CL’s solo debut has started.

According to YG Entertainment on May 17, CL with Yang Hyunseok and Producer Teddy as the person in charge, they wrapped up shooting her music video since May 15 until May 16 at Namyangju, Gyeonggi.

This coming 18th, it is expected that the solo track will be released with a music video. The music video will be directed by Director Seo HyunSeung, who also created the MVs for 2NE1’s I Am The Best, I Love You, G-Dragon’s Heart Breaker, etc.

Just like 2NE1’s specialty in music with hip hop as their base, it will maintain that kind of color. However, the new music will have a different and unique charm.

A YG insider told Star News today, “Everyone stayed up and worked hard for 2 nights to complete the music video filming. Though we’re still not able to reveal any specific details about the MV concept, this solo track will definitely have that charm CL has that influences everyone.”

It’s been four years since 2NE1’s debut on May 2009, and it is CL’s first time going on to her own solo activities. CL is 2NE1’s leader who’s the best in rap and dancing, sets fashion standards. She also has magnificent vocal skills that is loved and admired by music fans. Many people are looking forward to her solo debut.

A YG official confidently said, “CL’s solo track was really pushed by Yang HyunSukk believing it’s his ace. He also says the vibe will be new and fresh compared to other songs in the music industry.”

Additionally the official said, “CL’s solo track won’t be like a short-term project, but she will also do regular activities to promote the song. After releasing the song and music video, CL will proceed to music shows that weekend.”

After this news, it was announced that CL will be strongly participating in various activities. She’s also scheduled to appear on shows starting from the first week of June. Also in June, 2NE1 is scheduled to have a comeback with a new album.

Recall that last night during 2NE1’s performance at the Ajou University festival, it was revealed that CL went directly from the overnight MV filming to perform at the festivals without sleep — still managing to rock the stage.

With only 11 days to go, anticipation is definitely heating up.

CL will release her first solo single album on the 28th and start her promotional activities. 2NE1‘s company YG Entertainment (aka YG) has revealed through the company’s official blog that the last runner of their WHO’S NEXT? teaser would be CL’s solo.

A YG official stated ‘We can’t reveal concrete details yet but CL’s solo release has been pushed by the CEO and producer Yang Hyunsuk and it is definitely his hidden card’ and confidently added ‘it will be rare, new and fresh music for the current music industry‘.”

Moreover, it has been said that ‘This first CL solo song won’t be a pre-release track for a short-term project but [CL’s] title track for her regular promotion” and “On the 28th, CL’s song and music video will both be revealed and she will start her promotion on music programs the following weekend“.

“CL’s solo song is a hidden card that was pushed a lot by CEO Yang. She will reveal music that is rare to see in the typical music scene.”

In 2NE1, Park Bom and Sandara Park each released solo projects, making CL the third [2NE1] member to come out as a soloist. Especially since Lee Hyori and Seo Inyoung are about to make their comebacks, the competition CL will have to face is garnering attention.
